COSMONiO® is developing a wide range of 3D reconstruction techniques with real-time performance in mind. Our software produces accurate pointclouds and 3D meshes by processing data from any source including cameras, structured-light scanners and laser scanners.

Cubik 3D scanner

COSMONiO is part of the engineering team that designed the DepthPhase® 3D scanning technology, which is currently used by the Cubik 3D scanner. This project was successfully funded by a Kickstarter campaign in 2013.

3D simulation was an important step towards designing and optimising the DepthPhase® technology. COSMONiO used the Blender software package to simulate every aspect of the structured-light 3D scanner. This way any issues were detected as early as possible, meaning that after only two hardware prototypes the system entered production.
